Biophilia was the title of an ISTD brief assigned through the university. I was tasked with creating a typographic piece that created a biophilic experience for the viewer. I chose this ISTD brief as I feel maintaining a connection with nature is important to the human condition.
My outcome for this brief was a book about British species of trees. I arrived at this outcome as I felt that, after conducting research, people didn't pay too much attention to the trees around them simply thinking of them as "just a tree". The book was designed to help people identify different species of trees in Great Britain and encourage them to go out and try to identify them, helping them to reconnect with nature and gain a greater appreciation for it.
